Willy Whitten

Fluent in an extensive variety of media and techniques, Willy Whitten is that rarest of all artists: self-taught, yet acknowledged as a master craftsman. Gifted with natural talent and unique vision, Willy has extensive modeling and design experience in the demanding field of cinematic special effects, and in the last decade has been a creative artist on more than two dozen major films.

Whitten’s fascination with the beauty and variety of Native American costume and its wealth of symbolism has led to numerous hours of research of paintings, photographs, and rare ethnic objects from around the world. This attention to even the minutest detail gives each of his sculptures a special sense of authenticity. It is through this affinity that Willy is able to capture the varied textures and details of Indian clothing and ornamentation in the vibrant surfaces of sculpture.

To all of his work, Whitten brings an expressiveness and realism that translate into fine art that is not only authentically presented, but a beauty for the eye to behold.
