Two Feathers is the eagle catcher intent on extracting one or two tail feathers from the raptor. Indians of the Great Plains earn the eagle feathers that they carry or wear in ceremonial headdresses by counting coups. A coup is scored when there are eyewitnesses to an act of daring and bravery such as making physical contact with a rival or enemy. A coup stick is often used just for this purpose.
